About the Role:

Osttra is looking for a Director of FP&A to join our busy finance team, working alongside senior stakeholders to monitor business performance and provide financial insights to deliver enhanced value to our shareholders. The FP&A team consists of 4 finance business partners/analysts in London (inclusive of this role), with a management accounting team of 3 currently being established in our India office. The GL and all accounting and finance processes are outsourced to our shareholders.

Osttra is the home of MarkitSERV, Traiana, TriOptima and Reset businesses that offer post tradeservices to a community of 10k+ clients. While responsibilities are subject to change as the team develops, this role has a specific focus on Osttra's cost base and partnering the Technology and Operations functions. There is significant change both within finance and the wider business following Osttra's formation in September 2021 as we establish new cross-Osttra systems and processes. While this role has important regular deliverables such as management accounts, forecasts and budgets it will suit someone who enjoys variety and is naturally curious. This is a senior hire within the FP&A team, with responsibility for co-ordinating the team to deliver high quality BAU activities (month end, budget, forecasts). There is one direct report.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business Partnering/Analysis
    • Drive insight and analysis to understand and enhance performance
    • Support decision making with data and insight
    • Establish/review key business metrics
    • Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
    • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
    • Ability to tell the story behind the numbers and not get stuck in the detail
  • Reporting
    • Support the management accounting teams to deliver an accurate GL
    • Presentation of the monthly business performance pack for each product area
    • Provide business commentary and insight into drivers of product performance
    • Providing financial support to the key budget holders and their teams to understand variances and implications
  • Budgeting/Forecasting/Planning
    • Take ownership of budgeting and forecasting processes for Osttra's cost base
    • Support business planning by providing financial analysis and modelling
    • Support wider strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Other
    • Contribute to ad hoc financial projects/requests as required as part of the overall finance function
    • Continue to look for ways to re-engineer and automate finance processes and operating model

Skills And Requirements

  • Strong and varied FP&A background with significant business partnering experience and evidence of supporting change (8+ years PQE).
  • Ability to engage with a broad group of stakeholders including the senior leadership team
  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Strong excel skills and advanced modelling
  • An ability to work independently in completing assigned duties; managing competing priorities for multiple stakeholders
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • An ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of the business
  • Technology or financial services background
