Battleship is a turn-based 2-player game. Each player has a 10x10 grid where the ships are placed randomly. Each player fires in the adverse grid and tries to sink their enemy's fleet in turns.
Each ship covers at least two squares, meaning every ship must touch a dark square. Therefore, if you fire randomly at only even squares or only odd squares, you will minimize the number of turns you need to hit every ship.
